I was asked to create a small bench (seat) for an entryway. The house is a split-level and needed something by the front door, but it couldn’t be too large else it would take up valuable space. So, that is where custom furniture comes in.

Simple looking bench
A while ago, I accidentally cracked this cheap shoe shelf thing in our laundry room. Not enough to ruin it, but I head it “give” a bit. I decided to build a new one that I could sit on. Since the location of the shoe shelf is the spot where I put on my shoes or boots before heading into the garage or outside to do lawn work.

Custom Entry (console) Table
I set out to build a custom table that would be placed near a front door. So, I am calling this an entryway table, but maybe people would call it a console table or a cabinet or a wooden storage thingy.

Custom Entry Closet
The entry closet near our front door was due for an update. It only had a wire rack for the upper shelf with hangers for coats. Our shoes sat on the floor and another wire rack thingy.

Building A-frame shelf
It was time to replace a small cube shaped piece of furniture with a new A-Frame shelf. The shelf will be made from Maple and Walnut. Since the majority of our furniture is dark, black-brown, the maple will get painted. I started with 8/4 maple and 4/4 walnut. The shelf is roughly 80″ tall, 29″ wide, and 20″ deep

Entryway Closet Update
