I was asked to replace a pair of bed side tables (night stands) with a larger version. So, I set out to build a pair of them and painted to match the existing furniture.

Inset (squared) Cabinet
The living room has a very large inset space next the fireplace that is holding a cabinet. The cabinet is not very functional. It is super deep, like 30″, but the shelves only go back about 26″, so stuff falls off the back. The doors open to 90 degrees, but the drawers always get caught on them. So, it was time to make it more functional, and better looking at the same time.

In November, I built a dedicated rolling cabinet for the drum sander and it now is the time to see how well the cabinet works out. I also took some time to properly assemble and calibrate the sander.

I have recently purchased a Supermax 19-38 drum sander. The drum sander was on back order, so in the meantime, I decided to build a rolling cabinet for it. The sander does come with a metal base, but it has no storage and I have heard it can be a little rickety once casters are added. One other detail is that I have also purchased the folding infeed/outfeed tables, so they need to be accounted for in the design.

In the laundry room, we have a small, plastic storage cart that was in place when we moved int. It holds things like detergent, bleach, dryer sheets. With it being plastic and holding a fair amount of weight, it leans and falls into the washer and dryer and can’t stand on its own. So, I set out to create a custom cart made from wood.

I had a request for a custom cabinet, but it had a twist (maybe a roll), that the doors would mimic rolling barn doors.
